*Please note that orders placed through this program should ONLY be used for advocacy and fundraising to support ShelterBox. You are responsible for collecting funds and writing a check to ShelterBox at the end of your fundraiser. Anna and Andrea pitch to the “Sharks” on ABC’s Shark Tank
LuminAID co-founders Anna Stork and Andrea Sreshta invented inflatable solar lighting technology as graduate design students in 2010. It was just after the earthquake in Haiti and they saught to invent something that could help those lacking access to electricity have a safe, sustainable source of lighting that could be easily distributed in large volumes.
LuminAID has since grown to distribute its products in a variety of channels. In addition to humanitarian aid, LuminAID lights and phone chargers are available in retailers including REI and Home Depot. LuminAID was featured on ABC’s show Shark Tank in 2015 and secured an investment deal from Mark Cuban. The company has received additional awards including the Toyota Mothers of Invention Grant at Women in the World and was an exhibitor at the first ever Maker Faire at the White House in 2015.
Anna and Andrea continue to manage and run the company today.

Q: I'm Located Outside the USA. Are Duties/Taxes Included in My Shipping Price?
A:No, we are not able to include duties/taxes in the shipping price at this time. We hope to add this feature soon!
Q: Can I Fundraise For My Rotary Club or Another Nonprofit With These Lights?
A: No, we ask that any lights purchased through this specific program be used to support ShelterBox only. For more information on other discount programs that we offer, please contact us -- we would be happy to offer you another discount or ordering option.
Q: Can I Order Other Products Or Quantities Than What I See On This Site?
Yes! We can put together a special order manually -- please contact us so that we can get you a quote.
Q: Will You Include Marketing Material/Order Forms in My Package?
A:Yes, we are developing print material to include with these packages. We also have digital files available for download on this site.
Q: How Long Will My Order Take to Ship?
A:Most orders will ship within 3-4 business days. If we anticipate a delay (ex: an item is out of stock), we will email you to let you know.
Q: How Do I Donate to ShelterBox?
A: You will be responsible for using purchased lanterns in your education or fundraising efforts. Once funds are raised, you are responsible for writing a check to ShelterBox directly. We can help you get in touch with the appropriate contact at ShelterBox. You can download a list of ShelterBox contacts by country here.
Q: Can I pay in a currency other than USD?
A:At this time, we can only issue invoices in USD. However, if you would like to pay by wire transfer in another currency, we can accept the equivalent amount in your preferred currency. Contact us for details.
Q: I'm Just Getting Started. What Should I Order?
A: We recommend ordering an Education Package if you are just getting started -- this should be enough lights to gauge sales interest, as well as light up education events or a small dinner.
